Sterna is actively seeking academic and industry-based collaborators on an in-development applied research project focused on 2 of New Zealand’s offshore basins.

A core focus is to test reservoir charge in these systems using CSEM data. Sterna aims to first test the applicability of CSEM acquisition these in systems underpinned by buried magmatic features. Further, Sterna is investigating the applicability of CSEM in New Zealand’s shallow-water Taranaki Basin.

Using seismic geomorphological techniques, a secondary focus of our research is to better characterise and predict Cretaceous-aged siliciclastic reservoir systems, which are underpinned by complex igneous plumbing networks and buried volcanic landforms.

The top arrow points to a box labeled "Software Proprietors (Seismic & CSEM)" with a checkmark and the words "In discussions." The bottom left arrow points to a box labeled "Public Sector (MBIE & Fund)" with a checkmark and the words "In discussions." The bottom right arrow points to a box labeled "Energy Companies (Private & NOCs)" with a checkmark and the words "In discussions."
